1953 Sinclair-Goddard Synchromatic “PowerPak” Autocycle
1953 JC Higgins English 3 speed Sinclair-Goddard Synchromatic “PowerPak” 50cc 2 stroke engine .
1 Owner, brought to SF Bay Area from England in 1961.
THis little jewel isn’t some Chinese throw away engine, this was made by a aircraft cooperation after WW2 getting Europe mobile again,has a hand operated semi auto-push pull throttleclutch and will hit 40~50 MPH depending on rider weigh.
Includes all original manuals, tools, books, etc. + ultra rare accessory / optional DC engine lighting coil operated Sinclair-Goddard “robins egg” headlight,A’market tail light ,very rare Smiths external gear drive speedometer and gentlemans trousers leg clips , honor bike lock, factory tool kit, spare parts/gaskets and all original as delivered documents/manuals/literature.And due to all the questions.I will not sell the literature separately,sorry.
And Yes,the seat hardware IS painted PINK by the elderly original owner,done for visibility reasons,easily removed by media blasting or careful application of paint remover.
Been in a history of technology display for 40 years, then on private display since 2002, engine is free /turns over, fuel tank will need cleaning to run due to very minor rust dust residual if that. Only know example in the US .
