1978 Vespa P125X – B/W (SOMA / south beach) $1600

October 9, 2012 in San Francisco

I’m selling my 1978 Vespa P125X. Kinda sad, but have too many projects to build, and in the spirit of sharing his awesomeness, I gotta let him go.

Black frame with white cowls and horn panel, red (powder coated) rim and engine cover. Vinyl skull on front, which is completely removable.

Good:
Great daily runner, bulletproof, seats 2, hella mpg, perfect for city.
I went through the fuel/air system and cleaned everything, adjusted timing, runs like a damn champion.
Good tires, with new spare.
Brand new battery
Will have new black balloon grips, hadn’t yet arrived at time of photographs.
I also have a dashboard storage thing that mounts above the glovebox, haven’t installed it yet.

Bad:
Dick truck guy backed into it and knocked it over last year. Cost of bodywork and repaint would have been more than what I had insured it for, so my option was to buy it from my insurance company with a salvage title. I made the repairs and just haven’t gotten around to getting him back on paper. Current back fee is $222.

I have an appointment at the DMV for next week to bring its title and registration up to date. It currently needs $222 in back fees and a brake and light inspection from any moto shop. I’m listing it for $1600, if it doesn’t sell by Wednesday the 17th, I’m getting him legal and bumping the price up to $1900. You’ll have to go to the DMV anyway to transfer title, so now you can just do it all at once.

So that’s that. Call me at 419-6six5-6six30, rather than emailing. Cash in hand and M1/permit gets a test ride. Located near 5th & Harrison in SoMa, SF.
