Aprilia Sportcity 125 Scooter (south san francisco) $2200

October 12, 2012 in San Francisco

Aprilia Sportcity One 125. Break-in done correctly, according to the manual.

Bought new in April 2012. Model year is 2009 (new old stock). If you haven’t heard the story yet, Aprilia/Piaggio was sitting on a bunch of these cause of factory worker issues, so these were shipped to US dealers just this year.

Perfect city scooter. I’m only selling it because I’m spending more time in the suburbs and need highway power.

Pretty hard to find new, but parts are easy to get since this uses the Piaggio LEADER motor. This is the same motor as many scooters in the Piaggio 125-150 range, like the Vespa LX150, Vespa S150, Piaggio Fly 150, Piaggio Typhoon 125, Aprilia Mojito 150, etc. Same motor, slight differences in configuration.

This thing handles and accelerates better, and does better with the rougher roads of SF than the Vespas because it has bigger (14″) wheels, a motorcycle-like front end, and better brakes. It’s also lighter since it doesn’t have all the metal body work. I’ve been getting ~75-80 MPG or better, ~$3 to fill up.

Ridden a little bit every day, ~1420 miles on it. Great condition, never dropped, no crashes, always garaged and kept clean. Always warmed up prior to rides. First service was done at Rockridge Two Wheels in Oakland. next service isn’t due until 3700 miles. Just paid off the bike. Title is clean, and on its way from the finance company. If you want this thing now, we can do a bill of sale and you’ll be good to ride with your insurance. I will bring the title you once it arrives, or send it.

I can include the fitting kit for a GIVI top case for an additional $80. Givi case and mounting plate NOT included, I need it for my other bikes. You can buy a 30L one new for ~$90.

Cash only, or if you must, cashier’s check from BofA, Chase, or Wells Fargo. Open to offers, but if they’re too low, I might just keep it to have it around.

Open to trades or partial trades (+cash) as well: high end guitar gear (I’m a musician), especially boutique amps (Two Rock, Carr, Divided by 13, maybe Mesa Boogie). I’ve been looking for a original or boutique blackface clone for a while too. US guitars only (or maybe vintage Japan guitars). No more strats (have too many), unless its a JM stratocaster with the racing stripe. Drums – pro kits only (Pearl Reference, DW Performer, etc.). Maybe a car or truck let me know what you have: Model year 2000+, must be running and in good condition with clean title.
